Simplifying wholesale ordering across stores, payments and operations
A B2B ordering portal built around how the business actually operates, rather than fitting wholesale rules into a conventional storefront.

The challenge
Wholesale ordering looks like retail commerce and behaves nothing like it. Orders are placed per store rather than per person, the same buyer may order on behalf of several locations, and the business has rules about how often and in what form an order can be submitted.
A conventional storefront can be forced into this shape, but the result is a system that fights its users. The ordering rules are the product here, not an inconvenience layered over a shopping cart.
The approach
I modelled the ordering rules first—one order per store, the relationships between stores, customers and addresses, and how an order moves through the operation—and designed the portal around them rather than adapting a retail flow.
Payment needed the same treatment. B2B buyers return regularly, so saved payment methods matter, and a checkout that must be re-initialised after an interruption has to resume without creating a duplicate or losing the order.
What I delivered
A portal covering store-based ordering with the one-order-per-store rule enforced in the workflow, customer and address management, and the employee and order information the operation needs attached to each submission.
Payment through PayTrace using an embedded payment frame with saved payment methods and checkout re-initialisation handled explicitly, plus the operational tail: PDF generation, order confirmation and email notification, deployed on Firebase Hosting with a custom domain.
Outcome
Ordering moved from a process mediated by phone, email and manual re-entry to a portal that encodes the business rules, produces the documents the operation needs, and notifies the right people without anyone remembering to.
The value is less in the storefront than in the process engineering behind it: the rules are now enforced consistently rather than depending on whoever is handling the order.
